Hot Spots: Planning Your Honeymoon
Jun 07, 2017 12:38 PM Back
One of the duties of being the groom is helping your soon-to-be Mrs. with the planning the big day....and for you that means planning the grand getaway.
In fact, according to wedding culture and customs, its customary for the groom to foot the bill for the honeymoon.
Experts suggest getting an early start of your exotic escape…in fact, you may even be able to find better bargains and deals that way.
Start by looking at how much time you have off or how much vacation time you have coming to you. You’ll also want to talk to your boss early on giving him or her a heads up and so you ensure no one else is planning an extended holiday at the same time. You may even want to discuss taking a day or two on the front or pack end to prepare and to unwind after getting back and before getting back to work.
Make sure you pick (if possible) a unique, once-in-a-lifetime location, even if you have to wait a few months to do it. You’ll also want to head someplace that has something for each of you to do…and, you’re best bet is picking a place that’s “exclusive” but all-inclusive. Make sure to take into account the weather, especially for where you are headed to, after all you don’t want to be in the Caribbean during hurricane season.
You’ll want to ensure you have plenty of activities planned (Ahead) but you’ll also want to give yourself enough time to do your own thing, relax, take it all in and unwind. You’ll also want to plan all your strenuous excursions and adventures for the “middle” of your honeymoon…as you WILL want a few day to unwind from all the wedding planning and a bit of down time before heading back.
